The next 3 minutes could change your life.  Because I’m going to share with you the one thing that changed mine, and how you can have it too.

If you’re not sure that the Christian faith is for you but you’re willing to listen to one person’s perspective, then you are exactly the person I wrote this for.

I’m pretty passionate about my faith, and for some very good reasons that I’m about to share.

Five reasons to be exact.

1.  I’ve Never Been More Loved & Accepted

Here’s a truth:  Sometimes people fail us.

Relationships can be hard.

Often we are misunderstood, criticized, or even rejected by others.

But I have never once experienced any of this with God.

My God is living and breathing, and actively at work in my life

And that’s no joke.

I’ve learned that I was made with intention, that God thinks about me constantly, and that he has both a plan and a purpose for me.

I’ve seen it, I’ve felt it, and these are the things that keep me coming back for more.

2.  I’m Always Forgiven

Moreover, I don’t have to live with constant regret.

Because God is a giver of grace (basically, his favor and forgiveness toward me, even when I don’t deserve it).

He doesn’t hold my past over my head.  Instead, he forgives my wrong choices.

And that’s especially valuable, because sometimes people don’t forgive so easily.

When I lose my patience or do that same frustrating thing for the 159 thousandth time, I know I can hand it over to God with a sincere and humble apology.

And ALL of it is wiped away, and he remembers it no more

3.  I Don’t Have to Perform

What’s more, I don’t have to measure up.  God isn’t a demanding taskmaster, as some see him.

I don’t have to perform just-so or follow a set of rules with perfection to please God or to make it into Heaven.

What he wants from me is my heart – my devotion – my love toward him and others.

All God really expects of me is that I cling to him, and in so doing, make every effort to be like him.  That’s it.

4.  I No Longer Have to Forge My Own Way

As I make choices and decisions, I always have a guide who is wise, powerful, and already knows the outcome of every situation.

I’ve learned to trust that God knows best and to ask him first what I should do.

It’s an active relationship.  God speaks, guides, and directs those who trust him.

I often lean on the written word he provided.  When I need encouragement, direction, hope, or guidance, I open my Bible.  Many times, I find exactly what I need.

5.  I Have Peace

And best of all, I have peace.

When life brings its challenges or I am swept under through situations beyond my control, I have someone who will carry those burdens for me.  IF I will let him.

I often ask God for peace through a storm.

He can bring a sense of calm, even in the midst of utter chaos.

I have peace for my future also.

No fear of death, because I have already done what I need to do to assure my place in Heaven.  I don’t worry about where I will go when my life is done, because I know.

How can I be so sure?  Read on.

Why is Christianity Different from any Other Religion?

It all comes down to this:

Christianity offers a personal relationship with God.

♥ A walking, talking, love relationship with the one who made us. ♥

This is made possible through Jesus, who came to bridge the gap from this world full of hatred to oneness and peace with God.

How To Know God Like This

To know God in this way begins with four simple steps that are taken in both the mind and heart.

Steps that will transform you like nothing else, as once taken, you are given something new and beautiful

There’s really nothing quite like it.

You will find these steps below, along with scripture references, so you can see that this is not my theology.  This comes from God himself.

Just Four Steps

1.  Acknowledge that, despite your best efforts, you still do wrong.  You sin.  We all do.

    • Psalm 14:3 – There is no one who does good, not even one.

2.  Understand that this sin separates you from God, both here on earth, and later when you die.  But Jesus pursues you. He came to change all of that by defeating death through his resurrection (taking on the punishment for OUR sins).

    • Luke 19:10 – For the Son of Man [Jesus] came to seek and save those who are lost.

    • Ephesians 2:4-5 – But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!)

3.  Believe that God wants to save YOU.  And that no matter what you have done, he is ready and waiting to do that.

    • Acts 2:21 – But everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved.

4.  Receive his gift of salvation through a simple prayer.  Salvation isn’t something you earn.  It’s free, and open to all.

    • Romans 6:23 – For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.
    • Romans 10:9-10 – If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.

Simply say a prayer like this:  God, I acknowledge that I have sin in my life.  I understand that because of this, I have been separated from you.  But I believe that Jesus came to seek me out, and that he died in order to save me.  I put my trust in you.  Thank you for forgiving me, and for offering me eternal life in Heaven.  I gladly receive your free gift of salvation.  Amen!
